[#KCON17LA] SF9 Playlist

SF9 is a boy group formed by FNC Entertainment and the company’s first dance boy group. The group consists of nine members: Young Bin, In Seong, Jae Yoon, Da Won, Ro Woon, Zu Ho, Tae Yang, Hwi Young, and Cha Ni. The group name stands for Sensational Feeling 9. They debuted on October 5, 2016 with their first single album Feeling Sensation. Their second mini album Breaking Sensation was released on April 18 and landed No.5 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart which was released on April 26, 2017. They came to KCON Japan. They’re going to KCON 2017 NY. So, it’s only fair that we have SF9 come to #KCON17LA too, right?! U.S West Coasters, get your lightsticks and screaming voices ready to see SF9 at KCON LA August 18 – 20 at the Staples Center, LA Convention Center. These boys seriously know how to put on a performance, as evidenced by their epic cover stage at KCON Japan where they performed songs by Infinite, EXO and BTS. In the beginning of May, we announced the #BringYourKrowd contest through the KCON Live Chat. We know you might have a lot of questions regarding the new contest for KCON 2017 USA, so…before it officially kicks off, we’ve got more information for you below, Q & A style! 1. WHAT IS #BRINGYOURKROWD?  #BringYourKrowd is a cool contest we are starting this year with #KCON17NY where you bring your friends and family to the KCON convention for a chance to win a Hi-Touch with a participating artist of your choice! 2. HOW MANY PEOPLE QUALIFY AS A KROWD? Any group with 2 or more people qualifies as a Krowd! Please do not be discouraged if your Krowd is small…because you never know if you will be the winner! 3. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO GATHER MY KROWD?  Once registration for KCON17NY opens, you have two weeks to gather your Krowd and enter before the deadline. 4. HOW DO I ENTER THE CONTEST? First, visit the registration page to buy your own convention ticket. You can either ask members of your Krowd to each purchase individual convention tickets or buy the convention tickets for them. Gather the unique confirmation number from each member and fill out the form here: http://bit.ly/bringyourkrowd. Then you’re done entering the contest! 5. DO I NEED TO HAVE A CONCERT TICKET TO PARTICIPATE?  No! SF9 Rowoon’s Guide to Becoming A “Prince of Too Many Charms”

*Originally posted on KCON.TV   SF9 is definitely a rookie group on the rise these days. They’re making their U.S. debut at KCON NY (Jun 23-24), their latest single “Easy Love” topped the U.S. iTunes K-Pop Singles Chart, and their members have some really diverse talents.   Chani broke our hearts as Sun Woo in “Signal” Ruuuuuunnnnn, Chani! Run far away from the bad man.   Zu Ho has got the sexy moves. It’s all fun and games until the moves get “too sexy.”   And, Jae Yoon’s got a lot of confidence in his…assets. We love a man with confidence.   And then, there’s Rowoon, who week in and week out manages to amaze us with his corny, yet heart-stopping pick up lines, charm, and “this human can’t be real” acts of chivalry on “Lipstick Prince.” If you haven’t had a chance to check out the best moments of this show yet on KCON.TV, we’ll give you the quick rundown. “Lipstick Prince” has an all-star cast of “princes” including H.O.T’s Tony Ahn, Super Junior’s Heechul, VIXX’s N, BtoB’s Eunkwang, Block B’s P.O, Monsta X’s Shownu, NCT 127’s Johnny, and SF9’s Rowoon. Each week, they are given an idol “princess” whose makeup they have (try) to do. If you thought that Shownu + makeup would equal crying tears of laughter, you would be correct–but that’s another article. SF9’s Rowoon is the prince who just can’t stop charming the princesses to the frustration of…Heechul. And, we can’t say that we’re surprised because who could resist the charm of a man who….   Rocks the latest in “bow fashion”. No one can say that SF9 doesn’t know how to celebrate a comeback right.   Is super tall. Even BtoB’s Eunkwang is hug height. Side note: Awwwwww, Eunkwang just wants the hugs.   And, makes women feel this kind of way: Girl, you just got shook by Rowoon.   …because he does things this kind of way: Television chivalry is not dead, y’all!   To shed some light on SF9 member and future KCON artist, Rowoon, the prince of way too much charm, a man who acts like a character the most chivalrous of K-Drama hero would write if he were writing a K-Drama, we’re taking a look at how you too can become a “Prince of Too Many Charms.”   Here’s Rowoon’s Guide to Becoming A “Prince of Too Many Charms”: 1.  Be ready at any time to steal someone’s heart.  Even if it means becoming a human umbrella and angering the leader of VIXX, you must be #1 in all the girls’ hearts. Whatever. It. Takes. (Catch the exact moment from: ~3:25)   Did anyone else have Enrique Iglesias’s “Hero” playing in their head at this moment? No? Just us?   2. Use a single touch and a single word to make girls blush.  A blush is a sign that you’ve successfully “shimkung-ed” your lady. Gfriend’s Yerin– shimkung-ed at first blush (Catch the moment from ~2:55)   Nam Bora–shimkung-ed with a single word “Cute.” *dead*   3. Don’t look down on props. There’s nothing that a well-placed rose and a well-done pose can’t do.  Even Hyuna’s not safe from this charm.   4. Take some inspiration from K-Drama and turn every wall into a skinship opportunity. Actors like Lee Min Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, and Song Joong Ki are not meant to be watched, they’re meant to be studied.   5. Even if you’re too shy to do this…   …take this chance to let your shyness power-up your cuteness. There’s nothing cuter than acting “shy shy shy.” As every K-Drama hero knows, you’ve got to be a well-rounded character. So, let your shy flag fly!   6. Because even when you lose an aegyo battle to your “visual arch-nemesis,” you might even charm people more with your aegyo meltdown. ASTRO Eunwoo!! *shakes fists*  But also, ASTRO Eunwoo~~~~ *swoons*   See, you’re feeling all charmed right now from all this “shy”. Unless you’re Eunkwang. If you’re Eunkwang, you’re pretty much done with these aegyo games.   7. Become a master of suggestion.  Let me suggest that you date younger men, Soyu. Subtext: Let me suggest that you date younger men like me. Basically me, Rowoon. Props for trying. (Watch from ~1:50)   8. No matter if “people” make fun of your pick up lines, you just keep on stealing hearts.  People = Heechul.   Now, go out there and life your most charming, most Rowoon life.

Flower Boy 101 ft. the KCON17NY Lineup!

Last year KCON16LA brought you the 1st Flower Boy Cafe, inspired by a culmination of K-Pop/K-Drama’s flower boys and the uniquely themed cafes in Korea. Flower Boy Cafe will be making its long awaited return for KCON17LA and will feature a full roster of charming Flower Boys and surprise guest appearances you won’t want to miss! (Spoiler alert, some flower boys from last year may be coming back, but we are looking for more!) 

Kim Kang Woo & HIGHLIGHT’s Lee Gi Kwang Show Off Their Bromance At “Circle” Press Conference

The star-studded cast of tvN’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, Circle showed off their natural camaraderie at a recent Press Conference event. The cast, including Kim Kang Woo, Yeo Jin Goo, Gong Seung Yeon, and Lee Gi Kwang of HIGHLIGHT (who our fans can see at KCON NY!), discussed the complicated Sci-fi genre, and how they each prepared for their roles. Could there also be a new bromance brewing on set? Kim Kang Woo and Lee Gi Kwang proved their closeness by posing for photos together donning connected hand hearts. Kim Kang Woo couldn’t help but sing the praises of his idol co-star, saying, “I was a fan of his because when I see him on TV, as you know, he’s very bright. I always wondered how his expressions were so pure. I wanted a little brother like him.” In regards to Lee Gi Kwang’s multi-personality character in Circle, Kim Kang Woo said, “He plays a very difficult character. He has pain and needs to carry multiple faces – almost to the point where you wonder if he’s a robot. He’s doing a great job, and he’s fun.” Lee Gi Kwang in response expressed his gratitude to his sunbae, saying, “I worry a lot about whether I can do a good job on set. When I rehearse with Kang Woo, he always tells me to relax. When he tells me that, I can feel myself relaxing. I think that helps me with my acting, so I rely on him greatly.” Lee Gi Kwang’s group HIGHLIGHT will be heading to New York next month (June 23-24) to perform at KCON New York. Gi Kwang surprised audiences by revealing, “Our members don’t watch each other’s shows.” He was then asked whether his members even knew that he was at this press conference, to which he responded, “I’m not sure…But they know that I’m filming a drama, and that i’m doing my best.” Circle premieres May 22 on tvN.
