[#KCON18LA] Artist Reveal – Crush
Crush debuted in 2012 with the release of single “Red Dress.” He released a single titled “Sometimes” in April 2014 and his first album, Crush On You, in June 2014. This R&B artist hailing from Amoeba Culture has boosted his experience with producing gigs for Korean rappers LOCO, Gray, Zico. In 2014, he collaborated with Zion.T to release the single “Just” which became another hit. As a solo artist, Crush had an immensely successful 2014 with the sensual “Hug Me” and melancholic “Sofa” followed by the release of two EPs, Interlude and Wonderlust, in 2016. In 2018, Crush released a new single titled “Bittersweet.”

Dynamic Duo is a Korean hip-hop duo composed of Choiza and Gaeko. The duo officially debuted as Dynamic Duo in 2004 with their runaway hit album Taxi Driver. In 2006, they founded what is now one of the hottest labels in Korean hip-hop, Amoeba Culture. Their second full-length album Double Dynamite earned them “Best Hip Hop Album of the Year” at the 2007 Korean Music Awards. Dynamic Duo has released a total of 8 studio-length albums with numerous charted hits. They took home “Best Rap/Hip Hop” award at the 2017 Melon Music Awards and “Best Collaboration” at the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards with “Nosedive” featuring EXO’s Chen. On February 7, 2018, they released their latest single “Bongjeseon.”
[#KCON18LA] Artist Reveal – MOMOLAND
MOMOLAND is a girl group formed by MLD Entertainment through Mnet’s survival program Finding Momoland in 2016. The winning members who became the 7 members of Momoland were Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy and debuted with EP Welcome to Momoland on November 10, 2016. On April 10, 2017, they released first DS Wonderful Love and when the album released, MOMOLAND added two new members Daisy and Taeha, completing the current 9-member line-up. On August 22, 2017, they released their second EP Freeze! with title track “Freeze.” The group saw a breakthrough after making a comeback with their third EP, Great!, which included title track “Bboom Bboom” on January 3, 2018. The week after, they performed the song and immediately took the win on Mnet’s M COUNTDOWN. The single jumped to No. 4 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales, becoming the third-best-selling K-pop song in America in last week of January. On May 23, 2018, the group announced to be making their comeback on June 26, 2018.

CHUNG HA is a K-pop star who rose to prominence through Mnet’s reality girl group survival show Produce 101, where she was chosen as one of the top 11 contestants to debut in project girl group called I.O.I. After the fame of I.O.I’s title track “Dream Girls” in their first EP Chrysalis, CHUNG HA was also the main member of I.O.I’s unit group and known to arrange the choreography for title song “Whatta Man.” Following the project group’s career, CHUNG HA became one of South Korea’s most popular vocalists with her first EP Hands on Me in June 2017 featuring title track “Why Don’t You Know.” The talented singer and dancer has since gone on to work on collaboration tracks with other Korean artists, and in January 2018, she released her second EP Offset with an electropop song called “Roller Coaster.” CHUNG HA was chosen as one of the “10 Best New K-Pop Acts in 2017” on Billboard and is expected to broaden her activities in 2018.

Wanna One is an eleven-member boy group formed from Mnet’s survival boy group reality show Produce 101 Season 2. The final members as well as group name were chosen by the public audience’s votes. The members who took top 11 in the final were KANG DANIEL, PARK JI HOON, LEE DAE HWI, KIM JAE HWAN, ONG SEONGWU, PARK WOO JIN, LAI KUAN LIN, YOON JI SUNG, BAE JIN YOUNG, HWANG MIN HYUN, HA SUNG WOON. The group officially debuted through Wanna One Premier Show-Con on August 7, 2017. Their debut EP 1×1=1 (To Be One) combined with the repackaged album 1-1=0 (Nothing Without You) made Wanna One the first Kpop group to sell over one million copies of their debut album. In March 2018, Wanna One broke their own record by selling 700,000 copies in the preorders of their second EP 0+1=1 (I Promise You). The album was released on March 19 along with title track “Boomerang.”

Golden Child is a group under Woollim Entertainment who was first introduced through reality show 2017 Woollim Pick. Prior to their debut, some of the members featured in W Project which released music to spotlight Woollim trainees. The group currently consists of ten members: Daeyeol, Y, Jangjun, TAG, Seungmin, Jaehyun, Jibeom, Donghyun, Joochan, and Bomin. The group officially debuted on August 28, 2017 with their first mini-album, Gol-cha! With title track “DamDaDi.” On October 16, they released an OST soundtrack “Love Letter” for drama 20th Century Boy and Girl. On January 29, 2018, Golden Child had their first comeback with second mini-album Miracle featuring title track “It’s U.” The group also won “Global Rookie Top 5” award at the 2018 V Live Awards.

Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group consisting of five members, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri. The group debuted in August of 2014 with their digital single “Happiness.” Their first U.S. performance was at KCON 2015 Los Angeles. Red Velvet has experienced huge success in Korea and overseas with albums like The Red, Rookie, and The Red Summer topping Billboard’s World Album Chart. In the end of 2017, they became the K-pop girl group with the most number-one albums on the chart with the latest release of their second studio album Perfect Velvet. Recently, the group entered the Top 10 of Billboard’s Social 50 chart for the first time after releasing “Bad Boy.” In March 2018, Red Velvet was announced to be performing at an inter-Korean concert in Pyongyang, North Korea.
